10 killed and dozens wounded in the bombing of the Russian metro of St. Petersburg


Russian Health Minister Veronica Skfortsova said seven people were killed immediately after the blast, while three others died later, one of them during his transfer, and the other two after arriving at the hospital.

The number of injured 47 people, and 39 remain in hospitals, including 6 in critical condition.

The Petersburg authorities declared mourning for the victims for three days from Tuesday.

The security services denied what was reported by the media about a second bombing in the subway, but confirmed the neutralization of another explosive device found at the station "Blushad Fustania" in the subway.


President Vladimir Putin, who is currently in St. Petersburg, told the press about the attack. In his first reaction to the tragic incident, Putin said it was too early to talk about the reasons for the bombing, adding that the bodies concerned were studying all possibilities, including the terrorist act.
